Thoughts on the logo. . .

Each person who looks at this logo may have differing interpretations of what it means. For me, the figure sitting under the tree could be meditating or just taking in the sunrise or sunset over the lake and the hills in the background. Sitting under a tree is a reminder that the Buddha obtained enlightenment while sitting underneath the Bodhi tree. The Bodhi tree is a type of fig tree. Jesus spoke of the fig tree in spring as a sign of God’s anticipated breaking in to history. Nathaniel recognized Jesus as the Christ after sitting under a fig tree. It could also be Jonah seeking shade from the sun after realizing the compassion and mercy of God. The tree is is next to a body of water. The Psalmist wrote, “They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season.” Psalm 1:3 I invite you to spend some time with this work of art in silence and solitude. What does it say to you in the depths of your spirit?
